What does travertine cost on Curaçao? What the price depends on

Updated · 4 min read

The price of travertine per square metre is determined by six factors: the series (colour and rarity), the cut, the finish, the thickness, the size and the availability (from stock on Curaçao or by container on order). Add installation costs, adhesive or sand-cement and sealer. You receive a quote within one working day via WhatsApp.

Which factors determine the price of travertine?

  • Series and colour: common light and beige series are more affordable than rare colours like Gold, Rosso or Titanium.
  • Cut: vein-cut yields fewer flawless sheets per block and is usually somewhat more expensive than cross-cut.
  • Finish: honed and tumbled are the base; polished and filled require extra processing.
  • Thickness: 1.2 cm tiles, 2 cm and 3 cm pavers and 3 cm pool coping differ in weight and therefore in transport.
  • Size: large formats, free-length strips and slabs cost more per square metre than standard tiles.
  • Availability: from stock on Curaçao you save the 8–12 week wait; ordering by container is often cheaper for large quantities.

Which prices are shown on the website?

For products in stock on Curaçao we show the current sale price per square metre on the product page. For the on-order collection a fair price depends on quantity, size and timing (shipping costs vary); for those we work with a personal quote via WhatsApp, including delivery cost and lead time.

How do I get a price quickly?

  • On the product page, tap 'Request a price on WhatsApp'; the message is pre-filled with the product name.
  • Mention the number of square metres (or the dimensions of the space) and whether it goes indoors or outdoors.
  • Add a photo or drawing if you want advice on colour or laying pattern.
  • You receive a quote within one working day, including delivery on Curaçao.

How much travertine do I need?

Measure length × width in metres; that is the number of square metres. Add 10% for cutting waste with straight tiles, 15% for French pattern or diagonal laying. For pool coping, measure the perimeter in linear metres. For walls, subtract windows and doors. Send us the measurements and we calculate boxes, pallets or crates for you.

Is travertine more expensive than ceramic tiles?

Per square metre travertine can be comparable to a good ceramic outdoor tile, and cheaper than a large-format ceramic imitation of natural stone. The difference lies in lifespan and appearance: travertine lasts decades, can be re-honed and does not fade. Also read our comparison travertine vs ceramic.
