Terrace & pavers 2–3 cm

Travertine terrace tiles and pavers on Curaçao

A travertine terrace is the most popular outdoor floor in the Caribbean, and for good reason: tumbled travertine pavers stay cool in the sun, are slip-resistant when wet and stand up to salt and chlorine. We supply 3 cm thick pavers in French pattern (four sizes in one layout), as rectangular 40.6 × 61 cm terrace tiles and as 7.5 × 20.3 cm bricks.

In stock are our French pattern Classic Mix and tumbled bricks; on order the collection covers French pattern in Ivory, Light, Classic Blend, Autumn, Rosso, Sunset, Rustic, Silver and Silver River, plus marble pavers in Bluestone and Bianco Fantasy.

Why terrace & pavers from Travertin Curaçao

  • Stays cool underfoot

The open structure of travertine keeps the tile noticeably cooler than concrete, ceramic or dark stone.

  • Slip-resistant around the pool

Tumbled travertine has a fine matte texture that grips, even with wet feet.

  • 3 cm thick: lay in sand-cement

No concrete slab needed. You lay 3 cm pavers on a bed of sand-cement or crushed stone, even for driveways with light traffic.

  • Salt and chlorine resistant

Once sealed, travertine shrugs off sea air and pool water. Reseal yearly and the tile keeps looking good.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about terrace & pavers

Does travertine get hot in the sun on Curaçao?

Travertine gets noticeably less hot than ceramic tiles, concrete or dark natural stone. Light colours (Ivory, Light, Classic) stay coolest. Around the pool, a light tumbled travertine is the standard choice for that reason.

How do I lay 3 cm travertine pavers?

On a compacted sand bed or sand-cement (about 5 cm) over a stable crushed-stone base. Lay the pavers with a 5–10 mm joint, fill with jointing sand or a permeable jointing mortar and seal afterwards. For driveways we recommend sand-cement.

What is the French pattern?

The French (Versailles) pattern combines four tile sizes — 40.6 × 61, 40.6 × 40.6, 20.3 × 40.6 and 20.3 × 20.3 cm — in one repeating layout with no visible repetition. We supply the set complete with a laying diagram.

How many pavers do I need for my terrace?

Measure length × width in metres and add 10% for cutting waste (15% for French pattern). Send us the measurements via WhatsApp; we calculate the square metres and pallets for you.
