Travertine pool coping on Curaçao
The coping defines how a pool looks and feels. 3 cm thick travertine coping stones with a rounded front edge (bullnose) are the classic finish: cool underfoot, slip-resistant when wet and resistant to chlorinated and salt water. The edge overhangs the water slightly, so you step in and out of the pool comfortably.
We supply pool coping in the standard 61 × 30.5 cm size and in long 100 and 120 cm pieces (fewer joints), plus small 30.5 × 30.5 and 15.25 × 30.5 cm formats for curved pools. Classic Mix is in stock on Curaçao; Silver, Walnut, Classic Blend, Light and white Bianco Ibiza marble come on order.

Questions about pool coping
Does travertine withstand chlorine and salt pool water?
Yes. Travertine has been used around pools for decades. Seal the coping after installation and repeat yearly; chlorine, salt and sunscreen then cannot penetrate the stone and the edge stays easy to clean.
How is travertine pool coping fixed?
The coping stones are glued to the concrete pool edge with a flexible exterior adhesive, rounded edge facing the water, with a slight 2–4 cm overhang. Grout with a waterproof, flexible jointing mortar.
Which coping size do I need?
For straight pools, 61 cm or 100–120 cm pieces are quickest to lay. For curves and round pools use 30.5 × 30.5 or 15.25 × 30.5 cm. We cut corners to size.
Can I combine the coping with a travertine terrace?
Certainly. Our French pattern Classic Mix and the Classic Mix coping come from the same selection; the Silver coping matches the Silver pavers and terrace tiles.
